ABOUT US
The Department of Physics, RTMNU came into existence in 1963 along with other Science Departments for imparting post-graduate education (M. Sc. Degree) and for promoting cutting edge research. Department has successfully completed two level of DST-FIST and UGC-SAP. Each faculty of the department is actively engaged in research and has received funds from UGC, DAE, SERB, DST, DRDO, CSIR, IUAC, RUSA, UGC-DAE-CSR, RTMNU etc. Research activities of the Department are mostly focused on materials science research and have grown steadfastly since its inception, expanding into areas of functional materials for Luminescence, Solar Cells, Fuel Cell, batteries, Sensors and Energy Harvesting materials, Acoustics, and nanostructure Polymers as well as Theoretical Physics. Department is actively involved in R & D as well as consultancy project and has also collaborations with several R & D organization in the India e.g. IUC-DAE-CSR (Indore), RRCAT (Indore), NEERI (Nagpur), IISER (Pune), IISc (Bagalore) etc as well as outside the India with Penn State University, State College (USA) , Institute of Energy and Climate change, ForchunszentrumJulich GMBH, (Germany).
