Excellent employment prospects for Biotechnology students lie in the field of Pharmaceutical, Food, Agro-based Industries & Environment, in Academics, Research & Management Organizations. Further, excellent employment and research opportunities exist in the renowned R & D Institutes worldwide, and in Industrial establishments. In future, the focused thrust areas like molecular farming & health biology, stem cell research, bioinformatics & genomics are expected to grow exponentially. Moreover, self-generating sources will be encouraged for the development of entrepreneurship under biotechnology sector.

A placement cell has been established at Rajiv Gandhi Biotechnology Centre for organizing and guiding placement of students passing out of the programme. The placement cell functions under the supervision of faculty members of the centre.

The Rajiv Gandhi Biotechnology Centre has an active interaction of both teaching and research with the following departments in & around the University and a number of nationally & internationally acclaimed research Institutes and is well equipped with modern instrumentations and infrastructure to allow and encourage the students to explore the horizons of knowledge in varied aspects of Biotechnology.

CONSULTANCY SERVICES

Details of Consultancy Services at the Centre:

• RGBC manufactures and sells varied types of biofertilizers and biopesticides (aquaculture/health sector) for all cereals / pulses, vegetables, fruits and plantations etc. viz., Rhizobium Inoculant, Azotobactar Inoculant, Microphos Inoculant, Azospirillum Inoculant, BGA Inoculant, VAM fungi Inoculant, Trichoderma Inoculant
• Provision of Microbial Cultures and related services like lyophilization& allied research facilities to scientists working in research institutions, universities and industries.
• Rendering Consultancy Services in regard to various Physico-chemical and Microbial analyses of samples (Soil, Water, Food, Pharmaceuticals & Cosmetological products etc.) to be tested for quality control measures from public and private sectors.
• Counseling of farmers, Fishermen, Entrepreneurs from agro based industries, research scholars, Public as well as Private sectors in regard to their allied research activities.
• Provision of services, viz., Microbial Analyses like SPC for Bacteria, Fungi (Yeast &Mould) & Actinomycetes along with Microbial Antagonism Test for different sectors
• Informative, Scientific Printed matter in English, Hindi & Marathi
• Biotech know-how adoption Training facilities to Scientists / Research Scholars / Government officers / Common mass.
• Lab/field visit
